Seismic Fault Trenching – Olympic National Forest (USGS Project)

Performed specialized excavation in the Olympic National Forest to support the U.S. Geological Survey’s earthquake research program. Trenches were precisely excavated along mapped fault lines to expose subsurface soil layers and geologic features for scientific study. Work included controlled digging to protect sensitive strata, managing spoils and backfill within environmental requirements, and coordinating closely with federal scientists to ensure safe access and clear visibility of fault structures. This project contributed valuable data to improve seismic risk assessment and regional earthquake preparedness.
